Wizard Tips 1-99

cinaed walk.gif

Once you become a wizard, you want to check the stats and learn one of the BEAG spells.

I recommend beag sal, as this element ends up with more wisdom through the journey of insight 1-99 which means you will end up with more mana.

This spell is 2 lines without a stave, so you can step a few steps away, hit your creature, run, cast and repeat until the monster is dead.

Once you’re able to learn a beag leassaich spell, you can buy a nadurra necklace from the Dark Wizard located in Undine.

I suggested learning all forms of the beag leassaich spell, so srad, creag, athar and sal.

So you can utilise all fiors you may find on the ground and cultivate through Elementalism. Check out the Tasks section.

As soon as possible, learn a fas nadur spell. Beag and mor being the most commonly kept spells. If you plan out your stats, you will be able to learn a leassaich spell around insight 10.

I’d work towards, these stats will give you beag sal and beag leassaich sal. The stats after the arrows will get you srad nadur.

STR - 3 -> 3

INT - 4 -> 5

WIS - 7 -> 13

CON - 3 -> 4

DEX - 5 -> 9

At insight 8 you can wear coral earrings which will add 2 int, a hybrasyl belt will give 1 wis and con. You may find an Aisling kind enough to loan you some stat gear, otherwise work towards these stats every level.

Insight 1-99

Once you have stats 6/6/6/6/6 you will be able to learn Beag Fas Nadur which amplifies elements. This requires 1 finished coral, beryl and ruby. (If you play a priest or wizard, make a rogue character to polish gems with! Otherwise other Aislings can sell those to you, but it’ll wind up expensive ;p )

So ideally, you will stand next to the monster you are killing, cast srad nadur on it. This will change their defense element to srad, so it will now be weak to sal. You can cast beag fas nadur on the monster to amplify the effects of the elements. This means your beag sal spell will cause more damage. Continue the tactic of cast a spell, run away a little, cast a spell after you stand next to it to use srad nadur. Then when you run out of mana, equip your nadurra necklace to use beag leassaich sal to absorb the fior.

One example of ways to hunt. You can use this method to try and complete the Daily quests which can be found in Blackstar Village, or from different mundanes within Temuair.

As you gain more levels, you will mainly level up through quests and doing daily quests.

You can use Wizardry Research to be able to make scrolls for yourself, so you can make a quick get away whilst hunting, (TASKS)

After gaining insight 19, you will need a Magus Diana for most of your spells, and a Magus Zeus to reduce Mor Fas Nadur to 2 lines. These are the best weapons for you until mastering.

Ideally you would hunt with a priest and a ‘basher’, which could be a monk or warrior. A priest and rogue would also be a good hunting group, as rogues can poison and blind monsters. A blinded monster would be an easy target to cast a Nadur spell, then Fas the monster, and kill using the correct element. With your ability to cultivate fiors and recoup mana, being out of mana shouldn’t be much of an issue for you.

For hunting, complete the Heart of Fire/Moon quest with someone in order to be able to cast Loures Castle Aite upon yourself before you go hunting. Dia Naomh Aite will last for hours and reduces the amount of damage you take from monsters, it is an essential spell to get cast on yourself before you go hunting. Priests only get an equivalent near mastering which is Ard Naomh Aite, but it doesn't last as long.

Up until you master or sub, a wizard on most hunts is just a Fas machine. You will cast fas upon monsters to make them weaker, and in most areas, cast fas upon your group to boost their defense.

You will need to learn to sync spells to keep your group enchanted with Fas. To do this, you cast it on yourself first, then straight after on the second person, then the third. This means your Fas will wear off, you recast on you, by the time you’ve done that, it has worn off the second person, then the third. Keep casting it in an order and that will keep spells ‘synced’. This is also used for priests casting spells on their group.

Hunting after Mastering

Once you master you will be able to learn Fas Spiorad from the Fae in Shinewood 11. See the directions page, here <insert link>.

You will also learn Pian Na Dion -> this is a strong spell, does the same damage each time (Is not any element) and goes through dion which is the most important part. It cannot be used on other Aislings, but it's great for plenty of monsters. This makes wizards such good hunters off the bat of mastering.

As a master wizard, you are likely going to use Pian Na Dion to kill things and use Mor Fas Nadur on monsters when hunting in a group, and using it on yourself in most places.

You will be still doing the low level daily quests, but now you can complete the Mount Girigan daily quest which gives 150m exp for killing 20 deer or penguin, very easy to do.

Once you eventually max your stats and begin to work on your base health and mana (I suggest keeping it even, 10k hp, get 10k mp, 15k hp, then 15k mp. This is just from my experience of my own summoners. (Pure, monk/wizard, and priest/wizard).

Rocandy suggests a 60% (hp) / 40% (mp) ratio due to the hp that that fas spiorad will take to restore mana. Either will work, you will find your own preference.

Master
Summoner

Hunting as a Summoner

Once you become a summoner, you’ll want to do the lowbie daily quests again as you can now gain ability points from the orange reward boxes. These are a great source of AP early on and an easy way to gain Ability levels.

You can learn Bubble block at low AB which is a great tool for hunting. A pure summoner can also learn Disenchanter, a fantastic tool which you can use to ao pramh, ao suain, ao curses, poison and blind in many areas of Temuair.

You now have access to Summons. Mermaid, Torch, Groo and Keeter. Keeter is strong (at a relatively high level, 9+ in Lost Ruins and normal hunt areas in Temuair alongside Ard Cradh on the monsters). Groo is useful for Water Dungeon, something you can run through with a good group after Ab 30. Torch at 9+ is the main killing element at Plamit which you can enter and begin the quest chain at Ab 50+. Mermaid is useful for killing Blazes inside the Fire Canyon to enter Hwarone, I’d say Mermaid 6 here is usable and will do the trick. For the cost of gold, I’d recommend going for Keeter 9 (can be learnt without Andor Staves. You will come to hate the cost of Summons).

If you are a PURE (non subbed) Summoner you will gain Lyliac Plant - very useful to give other players mana, this will make you very useful whilst hunting.

If you are a SUBBED (other class/wizard) Summoner you can learn Lyliac Plant at Ab 30 from Aman Jungle in exchange for 1 Gold Bar (50 million coins). At Ab 30, PURE Summoners can learn Lyliac Vineyard which restores their entire group to their base mana and can be used every 12 seconds. This is essential for boss groups and some events.

Once you gain Ab50, it will be essential to learn Mor Pian Na Dion - this is the most useful spell any Summoner can learn. It is the best thing to kill monsters in Andor as it pierces through Dion. Same with Green Mantis in Shinewood hunting areas.You can learn this for 1 Gold Bar at Aman Jungle.

Ard Fas Nadur is another major spell as it a strong Fas and helps to kill monsters faster.

The majority of Summoner hunting will using Lyliac Plant and Mor Fas Nadur on monsters/Aislings whilst in a group.

Equipment

Armour, Equipment and Weapons

Armours

  • Insight 1 -> Magi Skirt (f) (Abel Tailor) or Gardcorp (m) (Rucesion Tailor) or Oren Armoury.

  • Insight 11 -> Benusta (f) or Journeyman (m) (Rucesion Tailor) or Oren Armoury.

  • Insight 41 -> Stoller (f) or Lorum (m) can be crafted by speaking to Jean of Loures (near the library). You need to have Wizardry Research (3) on your legend and be a Respected Citizen. To be successful, you can ask another wizard who meets these requirements to assist you. Otherwise, you can buy an Oren dyed one from Oren Armoury.

  • Insight 71 -> Clymouth (f) can be crafted by a wizard who is a Respected Citizen by visiting the Fae in East Woods 15-1 with 6 pieces of finished Talos. This will require labour. A Mane (m) can be crafted by a wizard who is a Respected Citizen taking 6 pairs of Magic Cordovan Boots to the Fae in East Woods 15-1. An Oren version of each can be bought at the Oren Armoury.

  • Insight 97 - A Claymth (f) or Duin-Uasal (m) armour can be crafted by doing Aisling of Talgonite/Mythril of Hybrasyl Quest. Visit the Quests 1-99 section and find those quests. If you aren't able to craft an armour, you can do the quest to enter the Oren Jungle Armoury and buy an Oren version from Violet.

If you are able to craft and want to dye an armour, see Dyeing Armour page.

To purchase Oren 97 armour, in Quest section, check Oren Armoury on how to get there.

Weapons

  • Magus Diana - insight 19, best weapon as it'll make some spells 0line and reduce lines greatly. These drop in many difficult to hunt areas, may be best asking Aislings at Pravat Cave if they may have a spare stave. Same for the Zeus.

  • Magus Zeus - insight 19, use this to make Mor Fas Nadur 2 lines, much easier to do.

Equipment

  • Up until insight 30, you are just going to wear elemental belts. Once you hit 30, you will be able to wear a standard Light belt (masters drop them on the floor in Mileth and Pravat Cave). If you are lucky enough to have a Dark belt drop inside the Loures Maze (aite quest) that will afford good protection. 1-99 Light is fine as areas you are hunting in are elemental, not dark attack.

  • Rings, use the little ones from tutorial, switch to Emerald Rings at insight 11. Then to Jade Rings at insight 16. If you can get Sapphire Rings from Beal Na Carraige later on, awesome. If not you can keep Jade Rings up until you master.

  • Greaves and gauntlets, I'd advise some plain leather and you can use Enchantment to make them magic possibly. See Tasks. If you can buy Leather gemstone gauntlets from Medenia these will add some useful stats, but honestly a pair of Magic leather gauntlets would see you through to insight 99 when you can wear Scurvy(500 hp)/Amorphous(1k mp) gaunts from Loures Canals, need an older Aisling to try get these for you or buy them if you can.

  • Boots, again plain blue boots. Once you hit Insight 41 you will need some Silk Boots (+8 dex) (from Chests in Medenia), can ask older Aislings around Pravat Cave for spare pairs. Peace boots adding 2 int 1 wis may be a good choice as well, these can be bought in Loures market and easier to obtain than Silk boots.

  • Earrings, you can stick with Coral earrings at insight 8 as they 2 int. No other earrings will add much else, but if you can get Andor Enchanted Earrings at insight 71 (they add 500 mp, 1 int/wis/con and 10 regen) would be worth it I think.

  • You can look around www.da-wizard.com to check out to optimise your gear as you level up.

  • Same as for when you master, and go Medenian path.
