A Curious Breakthrough

The first sighting of Blackstar Village, was indeed not in Deoch 164, but it was many Deochs earlier. In the summer of Deoch 150 around the 6th Moon, a powerful sorcerer who was at the beck and call of King Bruce stumbled upon the village, though we didn’t realise it at the time.

He’d merely been doing some general research into an area that’d been briefly sighted near Piet town. A scout from Loures Castle had submitted a report of a strange sighting to Thiabult, the Kings’ guard. As I was told later, the report sighted an overgrown blocked entry of some sorts.. When the scout looked again, there was just a shimmering effect hanging in the air.

Upon order of the King, this sorcerer Error was sent to investigate. Using powerful magic, not even available to the strongest of us Aislings, he didn’t uncover any hidden entrance, break through the growth the scout had seen, or uncover the mystery under the shimmering entrance. Instead, he somehow managed to pull a few Aislings into a portal with himself to a deserted town square. I was there, I remember this town square vividly. There was no chance to explore the area, all we had a glimpse of was paved ground and statues.. Of Aislings. I was there one moment.. Then the next. I was flung onto the grassy ground at Pravat Cave. No one had any idea what had happened. I preserved a memory of this and weaved it into this very parchment using enchantments, in case I ever came across this strange place again.

Error left immediately, no explanation or apology for disorientating me which I thought was rather rude. I assume he left to make his report to Loures Castle. At the time, many of us gathered at a tavern in Piet to discuss this, compare what we remembered, the very few who had been transported.. Nothing seemed to come of these nightly discussions, so we stopped them after after a moon or two. I vowed to put it out of my mind until the lost town square resurfaced.
